Cake can be a difficult thing. Even if you have an impeccable recipe, a variety of things like creaming techniques to the temperature of the ingredients can impact the final outcome of your cake. I worked all day long at a wedding cake store situated in Greenwich, Connecticut, and I made wedding cakes and special occasions cakes for restaurants where I worked for a long time after I made the transition to that industry. This means that I am a pro at cakes.

 

 

My experience has taught me that one of the biggest factors to successful baking is a well-made cake pan. It must conduct heat to the batter in a steady manner so that the cake will rise straight and flat; one that's big enough to allow the batter the space to expand as well as light enough to make the crust fragile and thin. It's unlikely to get a pan of that type in a supermarket and neither will you pay an extravagant amount at a specialist shop at the mall. Cake pans that are great can be found for a reasonable price at restaurantsand bake-supply stores or you can buy them online for a less best cake baking pan.

As a home baker in my early years I usually use the hand-me-down, well-loved cake pans I've spent much of my time trying to solve the issues that with discolored, warped, or non-standard pans can bring about. If the cake mix was made from a container or you've spent hours preparing the perfect Chiffon, it's a huge pain when the cake sticks into the baking pan.

A good cake pan is as essential as using a tried-and tested recipe that allows you to concentrate on the flavor and texture, without having to worry about making the wrong cake. "I depend on high-quality pans and recipes that yield amazing results no matter what I'm baking" added Jocelyn Delk Adams, author of the Grandbaby Cakes cookbook.

Nicole Garrett, executive head baker at Susie Cakes, echoed this in a blog post, saying in Insider reviews the most common problems with baking cakes is baking too long or the cake not being released from the pans and then breaking. Pans made of high-end materials can reduce or completely eliminate both of the problems.

We decided to try round pans of nine inches because they're the most common pans in any kitchen, and are the most commonly used size that recipes call for. For brands that don't have nine-inch round pans available, we opted for eight-inch pans.
